Abstract

The study of the books of chivalry has for centuries been subordinate to Don Quixote, to a certain interpretation of Don Quixote. In the last decades of the twentieth century, this situation changed, and a scientific critique on the subject began and editorial collections were set up to make their texts known. The quixotic and chivalric centenaries of 2005 and 2008 made many of these researches accessible to the general public. All this has resulted in a resurgence of chivalric studies in the 21st century, reflected in some pioneering digital tools. In any case, there is still much to be done to ensure that so much chivalric information now available becomes knowledge.
