Abstract

This paper analyzes the chivalric matter that appears in the theater of Francisco de Rojas Zorrilla. In his dramatic corpus we find two works, Los celos de Rodamonte and El jardín de Falerina ⸺the latter written in collaboration with Antonio Coello and Calderón de la Barca⸺, which are inspired by chivalric sources, in particular, from the Italian chivalric poems of Boiardo and Ariosto. These two comedies are studied in relation to their sources, and occasional allusions to chivalric characters found in other works by Rojas Zorrilla are collected at the end.
