This paper presents a new research project with the primary objective of developing a digital database on Portuguese chivalric Matter between the XVIth and XVIIIth centuries. To emphasise the importance and the need to undertake this work, I will outline an overview of the major projects that we can find nowadays on the Internet linked to the chivalric world, not only in the Iberian Peninsula but also in other Latin countries. Projected in the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Porto (Portugal), the findings presented here will illustrate all the information related to the Portuguese chivalric matter, namely books of chivalry and reissues during the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries, brief chivalric narrative, dramatic plays, tournaments and court festivities of the XVIth-XVIIth centuries, which are inspired by books of chivalry, and translations of Portuguese books of chivalry.
