The motif of the fountain as a proof of love found in the episode «Il fonte della prova degli leali amanti» of La seconda parte di Platir (1560) appears with new elements in the story of «The fountain of Truth» (libro I, capítulo II) included in the Noches de invierno by Antonio de Eslava, and with similar characteristics in the Tercera Diana by Jerónimo de Tejeda (I, 240-263) as well. This article is a study of the tradition to which this motif belongs and the possible links between these texts.
