The German Amadis and especially the three German sequels XXII-XXIV are scarcely noticed by research. Beginning in 1569, the 24 volumes appear in the Frankfurt publishing house of Sigmund Feyerabend. For the analysis of the Amadis series we use concepts of film and television studies, especially the so-called «cliffhanger». The open cliffhanger ending was sometimes enhanced during the translation process. The German volumes continue the story beyond Roseo’s apocalyptic ending, for which great narrative effort is required. Their method of production is caracterized by compiling.
